New paragraph

What is a diagnosis anyway?

There are a lot of people out there in the big wide world that go through life knowing there is something wrong with them whether it’s an ailment, problems with their physical health or even their mental health.

some want to know, so they go to their GP, they refer them to a consultant they then get asked what seems like a thousand question, blood tests, X-rays and even an MRI etc. You get the picture. then it’s the waiting game to have to book another appointment with the consultant and doctors to find out the result’s

But what is going on with the person, the one it’s happening to?

Their anxiety builds up, they start questioning themselves

Did I say enough?

Did I miss anything out?

Is it all in my head like others keep saying?

What if they don’t believe me?

Now they also have to play the waiting game and depending where you go the waiting list is long

When they do go back, they are so nervous, what it’s all creep in.

Then they are given a diagnosis and what a relief, all the ifs, buts, when’s and whys disappear and the relief, is like the worlds just lifted off their shoulders.

They can get a lot of help, medication, literature, groups and the list goes on

For some a diagnosis is so important.

For me I had tests so I could understand why I struggle so my much reading, spelling etc, I am dyslexic having that has opened up so many doors, software for my computer. Coloured Perspex for my books. And I enjoy reading books or even listening to them.

If you get a diagnosis, you can get the medication you need or the tools to help you.

There is times when you get a diagnosis that you don’t want to hear, can leave you with dread but having that means you are the one you have the choice to do something about it or not.
